Additional comments All chants in this Psalter are by A. Madeley Richardson, Organist and director of the choir of the Collegiate Church of Southwark.
For most Psalms preludes, interludes and postludes are provided. These are not included in the index and the midifiles. Where the organ accompaniment is relevant for the chant, it is included in the midi.
Most chants provided are regular Single or Double chants, although there are several of irregular form.
Where triplets are used in one or more voices, the remaining voices are also played as triplets (first two notes tied) in the midi files.

Quote from Maurice Frederick Bell Church Music, p.109:
Dr. Madeley Richardson's book, based on Dr. Westcott's Paragraph Psalter, goes still further, aiming at a complete and faithful rendering of the Psalms, unshackled by antiquated and meaningless traditions.
Dr. Richardson maintains that each Psalm (or each paragraph of a Psalm) should, if possible, have specialmusic written for it,adapted to its meaning and spirit. He has thus written original music for the whole Psalter, consisting mainly of chants in a variety of forms. In his pointing he often omits notes; in his chants he avoids full closes, introduces triplets, uses double, triple, and quadruple forms where required, and allows for the monotoning of certain sections with free organ accompaniment. He writes small anthems for various refrains, and allows for the insertion of instrumental preludes, interludes, and postludes.
Those who have heard the Southwark Cathedral choir recognize to the full the extraordinary beauty of this most artistic effort to make the singing of the Psalter intelligent. But, with all its excellencies of theory and its high aim, it somehow proved impracticablea, and it is no longer in use at Southwark.
