Additional comments: Born in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, Laurence grew up and was educated in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire, studying the piano from age 4 with Sue Macer and Zachary Dunbar. Aged 12 he began Organ lessons with Dr. Martin Moxham and was also appointed Organist at St. Augustine’s RC Church. He holds a BA (Hons) in Music Composition and Professional Practice from Coventry University where he studied composition with Robert Ramskill. As one of the accompanists to the Performing Arts Choir, under Paul Leddington Wright, and gained further experience in choral leadership whilst Director to the Coventry University Performing Arts Chamber Choir. It was at University that he was introduced to Anglican Choral Music by his organ tutors, Geoffrey Holroyde and Tim Campain, including how to write and accompany Anglican Chant. He holds both ABRSM Piano and Organ at Grade 8, with Distinction. Laurence is Associate Organist at St. Nicolas Parish Church, Nuneaton and Treasurer to the Coventry and Warwickshire Organists Association. |
