Additional comments: In the list of subscribers to Cherubini's 'A Course in Counterpoint and Fugue' (1837, ref link) on page xxiv a Mr. Whitehead is listed as organist of St. Mary de Crypt in Gloucester. This corresponds with Warren's list of contributors (page viii in book no. 161). In a publication of Weelkes' ""First set of madrigals for 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 vooices"" in 1843 by the Musical Antiquarian Society, Whitehead is mentioned in the listing of ""Members of the second year"" on page and here his first name is given as Alfred. Interesting to note that Joseph Warren, together with John Goss was auditor of the books of the Society of the preceding year.
